World athletics spectacle in Zagreb from September 8 to 10

The Boris Hanžeković memorial, the oldest sports competition in Croatia, which has been continuously organized since 1951, will host more than 200 competitors from all over the world this year, in its 73rd edition.

This year, the meeting will be held over three days and at three locations in Zagreb. The meeting will start with the Zagreb City Challenge on Ban Jelačić Square, where male and female long jumpers will compete.

A day later, on September 9, next to the Zagreb fountains, the Ivan Ivančić Memorial will be held, where all the world's best shot putters have been competing regularly for eight years. The current European champion Filip Mihaljević is regularly among the best throwers at the Diamond League meetings this season, so his new big showdown with the world's elite is expected at the attractive throwing field next to the National and University Library.
