European Judo Championship in Zagreb!

In late-April, Zagreb will host the European Judo Championship, the largest judo competition that has ever taken place in Croatia.

Olympic, world and European judo champions, among whom a two-time world champion Barbara Matić from Croatia, will gather in Zagreb from 25 to 28 April for the European Judo Championship. The competition will take place at the Arena Hall.

In addition to the performance of the best European judokas, the fact that current two-time world champion Barbara Matić and vice champion Lara Cvjetko are both Croatian will give a special charm to the competition.

After the triumph of Barbara Matić in 2021 at the World Championship in Budapest, less than a year later two Croatian judokas met at the finals of the championship in Uzbekistan, which is an endeavour only achieved by five nations in the world so far. On that occasion Barbara Matić defended the gold and Lara Cvjetko became vice champion of the world.

This fact will certainly increase the interest among numerous fans of this martial art and an Olympic sport in the European Judo Championship and boost adrenaline just several months leading to the Olympic Games in Paris.
